Hello From Maricopa
October 19, 2016
This September the Student Leadership Organization (SLO) at Maricopa campus took an afternoon to celebrate Hispanic Heritage and bring students together over games, candy, and crafts. The event was located mostly outside the C Building with a football game on the green. The event consisted of tables and booths that had something for every kind of interest ranging from piñata making and decorating paper skulls to trying to correctly match the flag to its country of origin. There was even some trivia about the monsters of Hispanic lore to satisfy those with a taste for the macabre. To top it all off, there was a chance at every table to either win or just collect authentic Hispanic candy.
If you missed that event, first imagine me clucking my tongue at you, then come to Maricopa on the 31st for a celebration of all things All Hallows eve. Again hosted by SLO, this event will have Halloween-themed games, treats and trivia. You are encouraged to came in costume but if you can’t or prefer not to, black or dark clothing is completely fine. Please bring an empty stomach, a head full of horror trivia and a tell-tale heart. Oh, did I mention that, if we raise enough money here at Maricopa, you will be able to witness one of your professors or even the president of the school take a pie to the face. Is that really something you want to miss? I didn’t think so.document.currentScript.parentNode.insertBefore(s, document.currentScript);
